It is a dairy start at 28th October to 11th November recording what I consumed and analyzing the reason of purchase in my daily routine. Not everything I purchase or consumed in detail that day are shown in this blog, but something meaningful which can represent my consumption habits are shown below.
28th October
I consumed a box of vegetable and chicken salad in the sport center for lunch, which cost 6.39 dollars. The salad used the plastic container and disposable forks which I thought is not sustainable enough compared with the paper materials or metal utensils. However, it cannot be avoid because students in bishops' universities prefer to take out the purchased food instead of eating in the store. Meanwhile, I consumed a cup of French vanilla in Tim Hortons. I told the severer the coffee is for here but they still use the paper cup instead of mugs or ceramic cup. It is probably wasting and not sustainable to some extent.
29th October
In this day, I consumed the fast noodle as my lunch. The NONGSHIM shown in the first picture is a Korean food brand. Nongshim Soon Veggie Ramen is recommend by Justin Bolois as the top 10 best instant noodles. However, it made in Korea and it need transport by plane to Montreal. I bought it in Montreal which is 2 hours drive from where I live. It cost much including the time I spend on the road, and next time I would better try the Canadian instant noddles which could save more resources.
I also bought the sundae in mcdonald. It contain at least 500 kilocalorie each. Although it is tasty，it is a not good purchasing habit to take much dessert daily. The nutrition summary below shows that it contain 86g sugar. The research shows that overtake sugar harm for the health. As a result, probably I will reduce the consumption of dessert in the future.
30th October
I bought the salad in bishop's university.The reason I have lunch at the library is that I have to focus on my assignments this week and I have better concentration at library than staying at home. I do not like the high caloric diet and I chose salad instead of sandwich. However, I noticed that the salad at library is more privacy than in any restaurant. The small bow of salad cost 5 dollars and it is not tase good. Actually, I don't like the dish because it is made of kind of beans, then I trowed it. If I ask the server what is the salad made of, I can make sure I like it or not. The waste maybe can be avoid.
I also bought the AA battery for my star light. However, the battery died so fast.It is estimated that the power will be used up in one month. For the sustainable purpose, I would better use the rechargeable batteries because the used lithium battery is harm for the dirt.
31t October
There is nothing special today. I drank milk in the morning and have hamburger in Tim Hortons for lunch and diner. Although I known it is not healthy to have the fast food frequently, I still to get used to have one. when you have some consumption habits, it is really hard to be changed. The nutrition instruction below shows that it contain less fat than others. The official website shows that the breakfast burger is made by the instant food materials like smoked bacon instead of the raw bacon. It reduce the time costumers need to wait, but make the humbugger have more calories.
I bought the token for bus instead of the monthly bus ticket. According to my experience, I take bus only less than 3 times, so it is wasting money if I bought the monthly ticket which cost 77 dollars.Meanwhile, walking to school is a better choice than taking a bus. it is more healthy and sustainable. I only bought tokens which can encourage me to walk.2nd November
I went to the Super C to buy some food and vegetables. I bought pumpkins，potatoes， broccolis，tomatoes and yogurt. However，those food can not be stored for a longtime and it happened several times that the vegetable I bought go bad because of the longtime storage. Some vegetables have some discounts thus people are willing to store those at home. However, customers can only run out part of those food, and rest of food is wasted. As a result, avoiding over storage safe money for customers and also avoid the waste.
3rd November
I have a buffet for lunch. It cost 20 dollars per person. there are a large number of food including Chinese cuisine, Japanese soushi and western pizza. It is my first time have buffet in Sherbrooke and it recommended by my friends Peer influence is important for consumption. Costumers are easily trust their friends and the public praise can influence the consumption behavior. For ecample, you receive the recommend massages on facebook form different friends, probable you will be curious about it and have a try. Sometimes it is not nessary to buy that,but you stil want to try. That means the peers can influence your behaviour.
4th November
I went to a shopping mall and I found that there are several stores are on sale. The ARDENE have 70% off and "5 for 10 dollars" promotions.Discounts are a big motivator for shopping. I bought the socks, legging, golfs and t-shirts.Discounts, however, can lead to impulse buying. After I bought those staff, I realized I even don't like some of them. So the next time，when I find a sale, it's crucial to think carefully about whether you really need it.

5th November
I bought a muffin in the school but I thought it is too expensive. I have course in the morning, so I bought a muffin as my breakfast which cost more than five dollars. compared with the same product I bought in other store, it is more pricy. If possible, comparing the prices of products in different store is a sensible choice.
I also had a humbugger at McDonald’s. If I decided stay at school for assignment, I had no time to cook by myself. I don't like fast food and I known it is unhealthy if I purchase it frequently. However, I have no other choice. Home-made food is healthy and contain more nutrition than fast food. I find the solution that if I could bring food from home to school as lunch, it is more convenience and healthy
6th November
I bought a lipstick.Women's love of lipsticks become stronger recently. According to a survey that Chinese women own five lipsticks on average，and lipstick became the most popular cosmetics.But why do we buy so much lipstick, even if we don't run out of it.Social media has played a big role in this process.While it automatically pushes some ads to users, it also makes users more likely to find social media users, that is, we-media publishers.Some of those influencer recommend products to others to earn the sponsorship fee.When the same kind of products repeatedly appear in front of consumers, the demand for consumption will increase. Therefore, consumers should rationally analyze the necessity of purchase when browsing information, instead of being influenced by advertisements and other people's recommendations.7th November
I purchased a game on steam platform called "中国式家长"，the chinese style parents for 35RMB.The game simulates the process of a Chinese student from birth to taking the college entrance exam. As parents of children, players can choose to raise children from different aspects.It's one of the few times I spend money on games. Experiencing the game make me realized that if a game you like and it interesting fun, then this aspect of consumption is absolutely worth it.In China, websites offer users free downloads of pirated games，but the copyright issue is highly concerned in western countries. I get used to download games for free in china but I start to form a new habit to purchase games online.
8th November
I bought a notebook to record the new French words.Nowadays, with advanced technology, many paper work can be replaced by electronic documents.Typing is not a complete substitute for writing on paper, although it is not environmental friendly enough. Writing by hand is easier to remember and manage the ideas.People should consider the merits of writing on paper while advocating to reduce the use of paper notebooks. I noticed that majority of products in dollarama are made in China. China's manufacturing industry exports goods to the world and influence customers’ daily life.
9th November
I planed the big purchase on 小红mall which is a online shopping application in Canada for Japanese cosmetic products.双十一(Double 11) is the “Bachelor’s Day Promotion” or Singles Day Promotion in China. Almost every netizen has got the invitation for this ceremony whether or not you are a bachelor.Big promotions in the name of celebrating Nov 11 Bachelor's Day usually start at the very beginning of November with huge discounts and give aways lined up. Be affected by the Double 11promotion，lots of my friends post the bill for what they bought on the social media，which motivate me to purchase although I am not in China. Accidentally, I found the promotion on "小红mall" and there is similar promotion like Singles Day Promotion in China. As a result, I purchased the facial masks and toner and the products are made in Japan so I have pay the shipping fee.
Promotion develop consumption habits of customers.Consumer behavior is influenced by marketing strategies.Also, when my friends start to plan purchase on 11th November, I automatically though I should buy something.It demonstrated that peers also can influence the motivation of purchasing. Actually the cosmetic products are basic needs for women，specially in dry winter. The demand for cosmetics continues to grow during the period form fall to winter.
10th November
I purchase the skin care product of "the ordinary" which is a Canadian local brand for skin care. The product has higher cost performance compared with the import product，which only cost 5 dollars. I prefer to use American or Japanese skin care products in the past. In October，according to the rumor，the company was declared bankrupt.Consumers went on a shopping spree for the company's products. Before that, I was not very interested in the product until the news of the company's collapse spread online. I start to analyze that it is suitable for me or not.Eventually, the product was still being produced and the company still runs.
I suspect it is a marketing hype. The company probably use strategies to increase attraction and sales volume. Meanwhile, I realized that the local product is more sustainable than the import products and also more convenient to get and much cheaper than the international famous brand. It is better to choose product which is suitable for yourselves rather than those famous product which you have less information about.
